Overview:

The Iowa Young Writers' Studio (IYWS) is a prestigious summer program for high school students passionate about creative writing. Hosted by the University of Iowa's Magid Center for Writing, it offers both a two-week residential experience in Iowa City and a six-week online course.

• Core Courses: Students choose one focus area—Fiction, Poetry, Creative Writing (a mix of genres), Playwriting, or TV Writing—and participate in intensive workshops, readings, and peer critiques.
